ダウンロードコンテンツ(DLC)は、Paradox Development Studio (PDS) によってCrusader Kings IIIの拡張またはアドオンとして構築されたコンテンツです。これらは本質的にモジュールであるため、プレーヤーは、起動メニューでチェックすることによって、特定のDLCを有効にしてプレイするかどうかを選択できます。拡張DLCは、通常、ゲームのプレイ性を妨げないように、プレーヤーに新しいコンテンツの大部分を与える無料パッチを伴います。そのため、ほとんどのDLCは、金銭的なサポートと引き換えに、より良いゲーム体験をしたいプレーヤーのためのオプションコンテンツと見なされています。

The base game is required for any and all DLC relating to the game. While cosmetic/music DLCs can be used with any game version, content DLCs can't be used prior to the version they were released with.
