Tenets represent a [[faith]]'s most important rites, rituals and traditions. Each faith has exactly three.
The piety cost to choose a tenet when creating a new faith depends on what religion it belongs to. The cost of the tenet will also be discounted by 50% if it is present in the original faith.

=== Syncretism ===
All faiths can pick a Syncretism tenet, which borrow at least one virtue and sin from another religion, grant {{green|+30}} {{iconify|Opinion}} mutually with all characters following it, and makes their faiths unable to be considered or consider the current faith Evil. Each faith can have only one Syncretism tenet and cannot have the one that affects its own religion.
Eastern Syncretism does not provide an opinion bonus. In addition, since Eastern faiths never consider a Faith to be Evil, it has no impact on the religious hostility of Eastern faiths.
